Padres 4, Rockies 1: Odrisamer Despaigne tossed seven scoreless innings and Chris Nelson drove in a pair as San Diego topped visiting Colorado.

Despaigne (3-3) scattered five hits and walked two while striking out eight to snap a six-start winless streak. Kevin Quackenbush worked a perfect eighth and Abraham Almonte added a sacrifice fly for the Padres, who have won four straight and eight of their last 10.

Yohan Flande (0-5) was denied his first major-league win despite surrendering two runs and four hits in six innings. Justin Morneau had two hits and Corey Dickerson avoided the shutout with a solo home run in the ninth for the Rockies, who have dropped 10 of 12 overall and fell to 18-43 on the road.

Flande walked Yonder Alonso leading off the second and loaded the bases on a pair of singles before Alexi Amarista’s fielder’s choice pushed home the first run. Back-to-back singles in the fourth by Rymer Liriano and Yasmani Grandal set up Almonte’s sacrifice fly to left that doubled the advantage.

Colorado left runners at second and third in the first inning, had a runner thrown out at the plate in the fourth and stranded Morneau at third in the sixth. Nelson came up with runners on second and third in the eighth and drove a two-run single into left to help put the game away.
