Rockies 8, Pirates 1: Josh Rutledge matched a career high with four RBIs while Brett Anderson pitched 6 1/3 strong innings before leaving with a blister to lead host Colorado.

Rutledge highlighted a seven-run seventh inning with a three-run double while Carlos Gonzalez's two-run homer capped the uprising as the Rockies won for the eighth time in their last 33 games. Ben Paulsen, Wilin Rosario, DJ LeMahieu and Rutledge had two hits apiece, while Rosario and Drew Stubbs added RBIs for Colorado.

Anderson (1-3) won his first game in a Rockies uniform after yielding two hits and four walks. Charlie Morton (5-10) extended his winless streak to four starts after permitting four runs and seven hits in six-plus innings as Pittsburgh, which swept Colorado last weekend, fell to 5-2 since the All-Star break

LeMahieu led off the third with a triple and after Anderson grounded out and Charlie Blackmon struck out, Rutledge delivered a double to right-center. Paulsen led off the seventh with a double and scored on Rosario's two-base hit before Stubbs added an RBI double prior to Rutledge and Gonzalez delivering the big blows to make it 8-0.

Colorado's Nolan Arenado was removed by manager Walt Weiss after the fourth inning for not hustling as it appeared he could have beat out a grounder back to the box when Morton bobbled it. Charlie Culberson replaced Arenado and nearly started a triple play in the fifth, but Culberson - after stepping on third to force Neil Walker - threw wild to pull second baseman LeMahieu off the bag before LeMahieu's relay to first retired Jordy Mercer as the play was upheld after a lengthy review.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Paulsen has reached base safely at least twice in each of his first four career games - the only other Rockie to accomplish that feat was Todd Helton in 1997. ... Walker has reached base safely in a major league-leading 22 straight games after going 1-for-3 with a walk. ... Pittsburgh, which kicked off a 10-game road trip, is in a stretch of 16 consecutive contests against the National League West.
