Phillies 10, Rockies 9: Ryan Howard went 4-for-5 with a triple, a home run and three RBIs and Jimmy Rollins delivered the go-ahead single in the eighth inning to lift visiting Philadelphia in a high-scoring affair that lasted 4 hours, 8 minutes.

After losing the first two games of the weekend series, the Phillies scored multiple runs in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings of this one against a Rockies team that had allowed exactly one run in each of its previous three contests. Rollins was 3-for-4 with a homer, two runs and two RBIs while Chase Utley also drove in two runs for Philadelphia.

Justin Morneau went 2-for-5 with a homer and five RBIs while Troy Tulowitzki and Brandon Barnes added three hits apiece for Colorado. Charlie Blackmon also homered for the Rockies, who lost star outfielder Carlos Gonzalez in the sixth inning due to left knee tendinitis.

Colorado tied things up on Morneau's seventh-inning, two-run blast off Jake Diekman (2-1) before Matt Belisle (0-3) yielded a pair of runs in the top of the eighth. Freddy Galvis led off the decisive inning with a single, advanced on a one-out hit by Ben Revere and came home when Rollins drilled a base hit into right-center. Philadelphia added an extra run on Utley's groundout.

Blackmon homered in the eighth against Antonio Bastardo and the Rockies put two runners on with one out in the ninth, but Jonathan Papelbon recorded the final two outs to notch his fifth save. The final out of the game - a poorly thrown ball from third that nearly pulled first baseman John Mayberry Jr. off the bag - was challenged by Colorado manager Walt Weiss but quickly upheld.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rockies RHP Juan Nicasio allowed five runs in five innings, while Phillies RHP Roberto Hernandez was tagged for six runs in four-plus frames. ... Despite the loss, Colorado won a series against Philadelphia for just the second time in its last 14 tries dating to the start of the 2008 season. ... The Phillies move on to Los Angeles for a four-game set against the Dodgers, while the Rockies' homestand continues with three contests versus the Giants.
