Rockies 3, Phillies 1: Justin Morneau hit a two-run homer and Jordan Lyles pitched seven solid innings to improve to 3-0 as host Colorado made it two straight over Philadelphia.
DJ LeMahieu drove in a run as the Rockies won only their second series (2-11-1) against the Phillies since the start of 2008. Lyles yielded an unearned run and five hits, and left after allowing a leadoff single to Cody Asche in the eighth before LaTroy Hawkins pitched a perfect ninth to earn his fifth save.
Philadelphia's Kyle Kendrick (0-2) extended his winless streak to 11 starts (0-7) after allowing three runs and six hits in seven innings. Jimmy Rollins had two hits and drove in a run for the Phillies, who have lost four of their last five games.
Colorado took a 1-0 lead in the third when Nolan Arenado singled and scored from first on LeMahieu's hit-and-run single to right-center. Philadelphia threatened in the fourth by loading the bases with one out before Lyles got out of trouble when Domonic Brown crushed a one-hopper to Troy Tulowitzki, who started a double play.
Carlos Gonzalez led off the fourth with a hard grounder that bounced off first baseman Ryan Howard for a single and two batters later, Morneau crushed a 1-1 fastball out to right to make it 3-0. The Phillies had runners at second and third with one out in the eighth against Boone Logan, but could only muster Rollins' RBI groundout.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Arenado was originally called out at the plate in the third inning, but was ruled safe when it was determined during a replay review that Phillies C Carlos Ruiz blocked the plate without the ball. ... Rockies RF Michael Cuddyer, the reigning National League batting champion, missed his second straight game and remains day-to-day with a hamstring injury. ... Colorado hasn't allowed an earned run in the last 23 innings.
