Casey McGehee drove in three runs and Adeiny Hechavarria recorded three hits and an RBI for the Marlins, who took three of four in the season-opening series. Christian Yelich plated the tying run in the eighth and McGehee capped the rally with a two-run single to make a winner out of right-hander A.J. Ramos (1-0) in relief while Steve Cishek closed it out for his second save.

Michael Cuddyer homered and drove in three and Nolan Arenado added a pair of RBIs for the Rockies. Right-hander Matt Belisle (0-1) was charged with all four runs in the decisive eighth to absorb the loss for Colorado.

Cuddyer belted a 1-0 fastball out to left for a two-run homer in the third and Arenado’s RBI single later in the frame gave the Rockies a 4-1 lead. Arenado’s second RBI single came in the fifth and restored the three-run advantage.

Hechavarria laced an RBI double down the left-field line to plate Marcell Ozuna in the sixth and McGehee scored Stanton with a triple into the right-field corner in the seventh to cut the deficit to 5-4. Yelich plated the tying run when his two-out bloop single to short left scored Hechavarria from second.
