Eduardo Escobar went 4-for-5 with a homer and a career-best six RBIs and Eric Fryer knocked in two runs as visiting Minnesota routed Detroit for the second straight night.

Chris Herrmann had three hits and drove in one, Brian Dozier homered among two hits and two RBIs and Joe Mauer added an RBI for the Twins. Nick Castellanos had three RBIs for Detroit, which saw its lead in the American League Central remain at one game over Kansas City.

Ricky Nolasco (6-12) gave up two runs and five hits in six innings to snap a six-game losing streak. Tigers starter Kyle Lobstein (1-2) gave up six runs and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Castellanos homered in the second for Detroit’s first run and Dozier’s RBI single in the fifth tied it as part of Minnesota’s six-run inning. Mauer’s infield out put Minnesota ahead and Fryer and Escobar each stroked two-run singles as the Twins took a 6-1 lead

Castellanos drove in a run on an infield out in the sixth before Minnesota added two in the seventh on RBI singles by Escobar and Herrmann. Dozier homered in the eighth – his fifth against Detroit this season – and Escobar delivered a three-run shot later in the inning to make it 12-2.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Twins have 31 hits over the past two nights while outscoring the Tigers 23-7. … Detroit CF Rajai Davis left after the second inning due to a leg injury. … Minnesota C Josmil Pinto (illness) departed in the middle of the first inning.
