Tigers 6, Giants 1: Miguel Cabrera homered and drove in three runs to become the fifth player to record at least 100 RBIs in 11 consecutive seasons as host Detroit salvaged the finale of its three-game series against San Francisco.

Torii Hunter had an RBI single among his three hits and rookie Kyle Lobstein (1-0) notched his first career victory for the Tigers, who remained two games behind first-place Kansas City in the American League Central heading into their three-game set versus the visiting Royals on Monday. Victor Martinez and Ian Kinsler had RBI doubles in the seventh inning and Andrew Romine had two hits and scored twice.

Angel Pagan had an RBI single for the Giants, who fell for just the third time in 12 outings and dipped three games behind the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. Hunter Pence went 0-for-3 to see his 18-game hitting streak come to an end.

After Hunter's soft single to center opened the scoring with two outs in the third inning, Cabrera deposited an 0-1 curveball from Tim Hudson (9-10) over the wall in left-center field for his 22nd homer - and third in two games. San Francisco trimmed the deficit to 3-1 in the fifth inning as Pagan plated Gregor Blanco with a two-out single.

Lobstein, making his third career start and fourth appearance, allowed one run on four hits in 5 2/3 innings. Cabrera secured the win after following Kinsler's RBI double with a run-scoring single in the seventh for his 100th RBI.

GAME NOTEBOOK: ESPN's Buster Olney reported Cabrera is dealing with bone spurs in his right ankle and is planning on offseason surgery. The Tigers refuted the notion that a decision has been made in regard to surgery for Cabrera, who joined Lou Gehrig (13), Jimmie Foxx (13), Alex Rodriguez (13) and Al Simmons (11) for consecutive seasons with at least 100 RBIs. ... Hudson permitted three runs on eight hits in six innings for San Francisco, which begins a six-game homestand by opening a three-game series against Arizona on Tuesday. ... Detroit C Alex Avila went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his return from a four-game absence due to a concussion.
