Tigers 5, Athletics 4: Rajai Davis belted a grand slam with one out in the ninth inning as host Detroit rallied past league-leading Oakland.

Nick Castellanos and Alex Avila began the ninth with singles off Sean Doolittle (1-3) before Eugenio Suarez struck out. Austin Jackson worked a nine-pitch walk to load the bases for Davis, who deposited a 1-0 offering over the left-field wall.

Miguel Cabrera doubled and homered for the Tigers, who have won nine of their last 11 contests. Blaine Hardy (1-1) worked a perfect top of the ninth for his first career victory while Anibal Sanchez yielded three runs - two earned - and eight hits over seven frames as his unbeaten streak reached 10 starts.

Jed Lowrie drove in three runs, Brandon Moss went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Stephen Vogt registered three hits for the Athletics, who had their four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 4-2 on their eight-game road trip. Yoenis Cespedes extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a single and scored twice while Coco Crisp added a pair of hits.

Oakland snapped a scoreless tie in the sixth as Cespedes led off with a single and came home on Lowrie's base hit four batters later, but the Tigers answered quickly as Cabrera opened the bottom of the inning with his 14th blast. Moss delivered an RBI double in the eighth to snap the tie and Lowrie delivered a two-run single later in the frame to make it 4-1.
