Cardinals 7, Reds 5: Matt Holliday delivered a go-ahead two-run double in the sixth inning as host St. Louis erased a four-run deficit to defeat Cincinnati for the fourth time in five meetings this season.

Yadier Molina (home run) and Peter Bourjos had three hits, an RBI and scored two runs apiece, while Kolten Wong (two RBIs), Matt Carpenter (RBI, two runs) and Matt Adams each had two hits for the Cardinals. Lance Lynn (2-0) beat the Reds for the second time in six days after allowing five runs and eight hits in six innings.

Jay Bruce and Ryan Ludwick drove in two runs apiece, while Bruce, Joey Votto (two runs) and Devin Mesoraco each had two hits for Cincinnati. Homer Bailey yielded four runs and nine hits in five innings while Logan Ondrusek (0-1) suffered the loss after pitching the sixth.

Bruce delivered a two-run triple into the right-center gap to spark a three-run first and Billy Hamilton's two-out RBI single in the second gave the Reds a 4-0 lead. The Cardinals tied it in the bottom half when Molina led off with a blast to left, Carpenter stroked a run-scoring two-out single and Wong followed with a two-run triple.

Cincinnati retook the lead on Ludwick's RBI groundout in the fifth. St. Louis moved in front for good when Bruce misplayed Holliday's drive to the warning track in right into a double, allowing Bourjos - who led off with a two-base hit - and Carpenter to score, and Bourjos added an RBI single in the seventh.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Cardinals' Randy Choate and Carlos Martinez each worked a perfect inning of relief before Trevor Rosenthal worked around a lead-off broken-bat single in the ninth to earn his third save. ... Reds RHP Mat Latos, trying to work his way back from offseason shoulder and knee surgery, was scratched from his scheduled rehab start for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday because of right elbow inflammation. ... C Mesoraco (oblique) was activated from the disabled list Monday and was making his first appearance of the season.
