Giants 5, Indians 3: Hunter Pence hit a go-ahead two-run single during a four-run fifth inning and Buster Posey halted a long slump with a solo shot as host San Francisco rallied past Cleveland for its third straight win.

Gregor Blanco and Angel Pagan each knocked in a run for the Giants, who have won their first two interleague contests after going 6-14 in such games last season. Juan Gutierrez (1-1) got the final out of the fifth in relief of ineffective starter Tim Lincecum and combined with two relievers to work 3 1/3 scoreless innings before Sergio Romo set down the Indians in the ninth for his sixth save after hitting Jason Giambi with a pitch to begin the inning.

Zach McAllister (3-1) struck out six and extended his consecutive-innings streak without surrendering a homer to 36, but suffered his first loss in five turns after giving up a season-high four runs on five hits in five frames. Jason Kipnis drove in a pair of runs while Michael Bourn finished with two hits and scored twice.

Kipnis plated Bourn in the opening frame with a single and pushed across another run in the third with a groundout after Nick Swisher led off with a double and advanced to third on a passed ball. Swisher made it a three-run advantage in the fifth as he lifted a double just over the outstretched glove of Pence in right, allowing Bourn to score from first.

McAllister, who yielded only one hit through four innings, saw his solid outing fall apart quickly when San Francisco loaded the bases with one out in the fifth. Blanco’s pinch-hit single plated the Giants’ first run, Pagan followed with a sacrifice fly and Pence grounded just under the glove of Kipnis at second to put San Francisco in front before Posey halted a 3-for-40 stretch in the sixth with his fifth homer of the season off reliever Chen-Chang Lee.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pence saw his streak of four games with multiple hits snapped with a 1-for-4 effort, but is 10-for-20 over his last five contests. … McAllister had given up only three runs over his last three starts combined. … Lincecum, who needed 98 pitches to get through 4 2/3 innings, allowed three runs (two earned) on nine hits and two walks.
