Dodgers 8, Cubs 5: Matt Kemp homered among four hits and knocked in four runs to power visiting Los Angeles in the finale of a four-game series.

Yasiel Puig went 2-for-5 and scored four runs and Adrian Gonzalez and Hanley Ramirez each added two hits and an RBI for the Dodgers, who lead San Francisco by 4 1/2 games in the National League West. Los Angeles used six pitchers — none for more than three innings — with Chris Perez (1-3) getting credit for the win and Kenley Jansen pitching a scoreless ninth for his 43rd save.

Welington Castillo homered and Luis Valbuena and Chris Coghlan each had two hits and an RBI for the Cubs, who dropped three of four in the series and have lost 11 of 16 overall. Chicago starter Jacob Turner (5-11) was tagged for five runs — four earned — and eight hits over five innings.

Gonzalez put the Dodgers ahead with his major league-leading 112th RBI with a double in the first and scored on Ramirez's double later in the inning. Coghlan's RBI single cut the lead in half in the second, but Kemp made it 4-1 with his two-run shot an inning later and answered Arismendy Alcantara's run-scoring double in the third with an RBI single to make it 5-2 in the fifth.

The Cubs plated two in the fifth on Valbuena's RBI single and a wild pitch, but Scott Van Slyke's RBI double in the sixth and Kemp's run-scoring single in the seventh restored the three-run margin. Castillo led off the eighth with a drive into the bleachers in left-center, but Juan Uribe added an RBI single in the top of the ninth and the Cubs were unable to break through in the bottom half despite having runners at second and third with no outs.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dodgers 2B Dee Gordon went 0-for-5, snapping a 13-game hitting streak and a string of eight straight multi-hit games. … Los Angeles used all relievers on the mound to set up the rotation for a three-game series with San Francisco beginning Monday.
