White Sox 5, Twins 2:
Hector Noesi allowed three hits in 7 2/3 stellar innings to lead Chicago to a win in the first of four games at Minnesota.

Noesi (5-7) retired the first 11 men he faced and took a shutout into the eighth before serving up a two-run homer to Danny Santana on his 110th and final pitch. The right-hander struck out three and walked one while outdueling Twins starter Phil Hughes (10-7), who left after taking a hard shot off his right shin to begin the fourth.

Adam Eaton had a two-run single among three hits and Alexei Ramirez delivered a run-scoring base hit for Chicago, which snapped a five-game losing streak versus Minnesota. Conor Gillaspie had a pair of hits and scored a run as part of the White Sox' 11-hit attack.

Eaton doubled with two outs in the third and came in on Ramirez's line shot to center field to begin the scoring. Chicago loaded the bases in the fourth before reliever Samuel Deduno walked in a run and Eaton followed with a base hit to center to make it 4-0.

Noesi retired the side in order in the sixth and seventh innings and had two outs in the eighth but Santana yanked a 1-2 offering down the right-field line to get the Twins on the board. Daniel Webb came on to get the last out of the frame and Jake Petricka picked up his fifth save with a clean ninth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hughes was diagnosed with a bruised right shin after being struck hard by Adam Dunn's comebacker, which ricocheted toward the first-base line and went for an infield hit. Hughes was charged with two runs in three-plus innings. ... Minnesota traded 1B/DH Kendrys Morales to Seattle in exchange for RH Stephen Pryor. Morales signed with the Twins on June 8 after turning down the Mariners' $14.1 million qualifying offer last winter and becoming a free agent. ... Chicago placed RH Zach Putnam (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list and recalled RH Andre Rienzo from Triple-A Charlotte.
