White Sox 7, Mariners 1: Chris Sale pitched a six-hitter and struck out a season-high 12 while rookie Jose Abreu extended his hitting streak to 18 games with his major league-leading 27th home run as host Chicago continued its mastery of Seattle.

Dayan Viciedo tied a career high with four hits - including a solo shot - and Paul Konerko belted his 439th career home run as the White Sox defeated the Mariners for the 15th time in the last 19 meetings. Sale (8-1) extended his unbeaten string to four starts with his seventh career complete game and second this season.

Rookie Roenis Elias (7-7) yielded five runs and seven hits over five innings in dropping his second straight start as Seattle had its four-game winning streak snapped while losing for only the third time in its last 13 contests. Elias yielded only a pair of singles before Viciedo ripped a 2-1 changeup out to left to lead off the fourth.

Chicago broke it open with four runs in the fifth as Moises Sierra singled and Tyler Flowers was hit by a pitch to begin the frame before Adam Eaton stroked an RBI double to right. After Gordon Beckham delivered a sacrifice fly, Abreu crushed the next offering - a fastball - on a line over the wall in right-center to make it 5-0.

The Mariners threatened with two on and one out in the sixth before Sale struck out James Jones and, after a wild pitch, ended the threat by fanning Robinson Cano. Konerko moved past Andre Dawson and into sole possession of 42nd place on the all-time home run list with a two-run shot in the eighth to make it 7-0.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago is 28-7 against Seattle since the start of 2010, including 17-3 at home. ... Mariners DH Corey Hart returned after missing 42 games with a strained left hamstring and went 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly in the ninth. To make room, OF Cole Gillespie was designated for assignment. ... SS Willie Bloomquist had two hits for Seattle.
