White Sox 15, Rockies 3: Rookie Jose Abreu and Avisail Garcia each homered twice and Jose Quintana threw seven strong innings as visiting Chicago bounced back after losing the opener of three-game series.

Alexei Ramirez and Tyler Flowers also went deep in support of Quintana (1-0), who allowed two runs and five hits. Garcia finished with a career-high four hits, Abreu drove in a season-best five and Adam Eaton and Marcus Semien combined to go 6-for-9 with five runs scored in the top two spots in Chicago’s batting order.

Michael Cuddyer, the defending NL batting champion, had two hits, including a solo home run, to raise his average to .432 and Troy Tulowitzki drove in the other two runs with a double and sacrifice fly for Colorado. Rockies starter Franklin Morales (0-1) worked into the seventh inning for the first time since 2012, allowing six runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Garcia leaned on Morales' 0-2 pitch with two outs in the second and drilled it over the wall in left field for a 1-0 lead. Ramirez followed with a single to left and Flowers stepped up and hit one even deeper over the left-field fence for a 3-0 lead.

The Rockies sliced into the deficit with single runs in the fourth and sixth innings to make it 4-2, but Abreu slammed his first major league homer on the 12th pitch with two aboard for a 7-2 advantage in the seventh inning and the White Sox tacked on six more runs in the eighth for a double-digit lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The six home runs for White Sox are their most in a game since June 24, 2009, a 10-7 win against the Dodgers that also included a homer from Ramirez. … The White Sox didn't score more than 12 runs in a game last season. … Rockies 1B Justin Morneau also had two hits, the only other player for the Rockies with a multi-hit game, and has hit safely in all seven games he has appeared this season.
