Reds 1, Braves 0: Mike Leake allowed only two hits over 6 2/3 innings and scored the only run as Cincinnati edged visiting Atlanta to snap a seven-game losing streak.

Leake doubled in the sixth inning and came home on the first of two Brandon Phillips singles as the Reds inched within seven games of the National League’s second wild card. Leake (10-11) fanned six and walked three while Aroldis Chapman struck out the side in the ninth for his 27th save.

Emilio Bonifacio collected a pair of hits for the Braves, who remained one game behind San Francisco in the race for the NL’s second wild card. Atlanta starter Ervin Santana (13-7) yielded one run and four hits over seven innings with seven strikeouts while losing for the first time in seven decisions.

After a rain delay of almost two hours, Santana and Leake each allowed just one hit and two baserunners while cruising through five innings. Leake helped himself when he ripped a shot into the left-field corner to lead off the sixth, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored when Phillips dropped a line drive into center.

Andrelton Simmons doubled to start the seventh for the Braves and Leake walked a pair to load the bases with two outs before Jumbo Diaz got the final out on a fielder’s choice. Jonathan Broxton gave up a two-out double to Bonifacio in the eighth before striking out Simmons to end the threat.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Phillips' RBI was his first in six games since returning from a thumb injury. … Atlanta OF Justin Upton went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts and saw his 13-game hitting streak come to an end. … Cincinnati 1B Jack Hannahan played in his 600th career game, going 1-for-3.
