Braves 1, Brewers 0: Chris Johnson belted a solo homer in the seventh inning for the first hit of the game and Aaron Harang pitched 6 2/3 shutout frames as visiting Atlanta took the rubber match of the three-game series.

It was Johnson’s first blast of the season and Harang (1-0) yielded two singles and one walk while striking out three in his first start with Atlanta. B.J. Upton and Gerald Laird also had hits for the Braves and closer Craig Kimbrel pitched a perfect ninth for his second save with help from a diving catch by right fielder Jason Heyward.

Matt Garza (0-1) was outstanding in his Brewers’ debut, taking a no-hitter into the seventh and allowing one run on two hits with seven strikeouts over eight innings. Milwaukee scored only four runs in the series.

Each team could only manage one base runner on a walk through the first six innings as Garza and Harang rolled along. Garza struck out four in a row at one point and retired the first 11 while Harang survived Carlos Gomez's liner that flew just outside the left field foul pole in the sixth inning.

Johnson ended Garza’s no-hit bid, driving a 1-0 pitch into the Brewers bullpen in left center field. Logan Schafer’s leadoff single broke up Harang’s no-hitter in the seventh and the Brewers put runners at first and third before Jonathan Lucroy popped out and reliever Luis Avilan got pinch hitter Rickie Weeks on a groundout to end the threat.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Braves recorded four homers in the first three games. … Milwaukee SS Jean Segura got the day off to rest a sore shoulder after going 0-for-7 in the first two games of the season. … Both teams have Thursday off before Milwaukee is at Boston and Atlanta travels to Washington for afternoon games Friday.
