Blue Jays 8, Red Sox 0: Marcus Stroman allowed one hit through seven innings and Juan Francisco drove in four runs while finishing a double shy of the cycle as Toronto clinched a series win over visiting Boston.

Melky Cabrera doubled three times and drove in a pair while Ryan Goins added two hits and an RBI for the Blue Jays, who took the final three games of the series after dropping the opener 14-1. Stroman (6-2) had a no-hit bid through six innings and ended up permitting a pair of walks en route to winning his third straight decision.

Rubby De La Rosa (3-3) started for the Red Sox and suffered through his worst start of the season, surrendering seven runs - six earned - on nine hits and a pair of walks in four-plus innings. Shane Victorino broke up the no-hit bid with a single leading off the seventh.

A passed ball with the bases loaded gave Toronto a quick lead in the first and it added two more in the second as Goins and Cabrera each recorded an RBI double. Francisco, who tripled and scored in the second, made it a 5-0 gap with a two-run blast to right in the third.

The Blue Jays loaded the bases on a hit-by-pitch and a pair of singles to start the fifth before Burke Badenhop came on in relief of De La Rosa and surrendered Francisco’s two-run single to left. Victorino’s single just dropped in front of center fielder Anthony Gose in the seventh but Stroman got David Ortiz to fly out and induced a double play to end his day.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Boston 2B Dustin Pedroia, who is 2-for-24 since the All-Star break, was given a rare day off and Brock Holt got the start in his spot, becoming the first Red Sox player to start games at seven different positions. … Goins has at least one hit, one RBI and one run scored in all three contests since being recalled from Triple-A Buffalo. … Ortiz left the game with two outs in the ninth after grabbing his back following an awkward swing.
