Orioles 5, White Sox 1: Chris Tillman scattered three hits over eight innings and Delmon Young ripped the go-ahead RBI single with two outs in the sixth as visiting Baltimore claimed a series victory over Chicago.

Chris Davis added a two-run double in the sixth for the Orioles, who improved to a majors-best 30-13 since June 30 and own an 8 1/2-game lead over the New York Yankees in the American League East. Nick Hundley belted a solo homer to lead off the seventh and Adam Jones had an RBI single and matched Young and Hundley with two hits apiece.

Rookie Jose Abreu belted his 32nd homer in the first inning to pull into a tie with Baltimore's Nelson Cruz for the American League lead. Jose Quintana (6-10) allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings to take the loss for the White Sox, who have dropped 11 of 16.

Tillman (10-5) recorded his third straight win and improved to 7-0 on the road after permitting one run and striking out nine. Tommy Hunter retired the side in the ninth to seal the win.

With the score tied at 1-1, Jones ripped a one-out double in the sixth and Young followed two batters later by jumping on a 1-0 fastball from Quintana and sending it into center to plate the go-ahead run. J.J. Hardy singled to put runners on the corners before Davis' double scored both runners to give Baltimore a 4-1 advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Abreu went deep for the first time since July 29 after jumping on an 0-1 changeup from Tillman and sending it over the wall in left-center field. ... Orioles RF Nick Markakis went 0-for-4 to see his 10-game hitting streak come to a halt. He went 17-for-41 during his run. ... Signed to a four-year, $50 million deal in the winter, Baltimore's Ubaldo Jimenez was moved to the bullpen and fellow RHP Miguel Gonzalez was tabbed to start Sunday's contest versus the Chicago Cubs.
