Orioles 4, Indians 1: Kevin Gausman was solid through six innings and slumping Chris Davis had a big RBI double to help visiting Baltimore salvage the finale of a three-game set.

Steve Pearce and Jonathan Schoop both delivered solo homers while J.J. Hardy added a run-scoring single for the first-place Orioles, who have a seven-game lead in the American League East. Gausman (7-4) allowed a run and a season-low two hits while working around four walks to lower his ERA in six road starts to 2.91.

Jason Kipnis' RBI single accounted for the scoring for Cleveland, which fell five games out in its quest for the second wild-card spot in the AL. Danny Salazar (4-6), recalled earlier Sunday from Triple-A Columbus, gave up two runs in five-plus innings while striking out four.

Salazar took a 1-0 lead into the sixth before Pearce doubled and Adam Jones was hit by a pitch. Scott Atchison took over on the mound and got two quick outs before Hardy's base hit to right tied it and Davis went the other way for a double to make it 2-1.

Gausman needed nine pitches to coast through the bottom of the sixth and Pearce homered to left in the seventh for a 3-1 advantage. Schoop added insurance with his 12th of the season in the ninth before Zach Britton completed the combined two-hitter with a scoreless ninth for his 26th save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Indians optioned OF Tyler Holt to make room on the roster for Salazar. ... Davis also doubled in the third to record just his fourth multi-hit game in over two months. He was 2-for-22 with 11 strikeouts in his previous six games and started in the seventh spot in the lineup for the third time this year. ... Baltimore stays on the road to begin a three-game series at the Chicago White Sox on Monday. Cleveland has a day off before visiting Minnesota for three games.
