Athletics 5, Orioles 4: Josh Donaldson belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning as Oakland stunned Baltimore.

After Yoenis Cespedes and Brandon Moss led off the ninth with singles, Donaldson belted the first pitch he saw from closer Zach Britton (3-2) over the wall in center to give the Athletics a season-high seven-game home winning streak. Eric O'Flaherty (1-0) pitched a perfect ninth to earn the victory - Oakland's 12th in its last 13 at home.

Manny Machado, playing his first game against the Athletics since a bat-throwing incident June 8, and Jonathan Schoop delivered two-run homers for the Orioles. Chris Tillman was denied his sixth win in as many decisions in 12 road starts this season after allowing two runs and four hits while striking out six in 6 2/3 innings.

Derek Norris homered and Jeff Samardzija allowed four runs and six hits in seven innings in his third start with Oakland. The Athletics took a 1-0 lead in the third when Coco Crisp singled with two outs and, after advancing to second on wild pitch, scored on John Jaso's double to right-center.

Baltimore took the lead in the fifth as Schoop crushed a 3-2 offering over the wall in left-center after Samardzija induced Caleb Joseph to hit into a double play before Norris crushed an 0-1 pitch on a line over the wall in left with one out in the bottom half. Hardy singled with one out in the seventh in front of Machado, who blasted a line drive just inside the left-field foul pole on the next pitch and is 17-for-35 since returning from the five-game suspension for throwing his bat.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Orioles SS J.J. Hardy, who had two hits and scored twice, was hit in the head by a pitch leading off the fifth, but quickly trotted down to first base. ...
