Diamondbacks 5, Rockies 2: Rookie Jake Lamb hit his first career grand slam in the eighth inning to lift Arizona over visiting Colorado in the opener of a three-game series.

The Diamondbacks trailed 2-1 but loaded the bases against Rex Brothers (4-6) in the eighth before Adam Ottavino came on and retired the next two batters. Lamb followed and ripped a 2-1 fastball over the high wall in center field for his second career home run to put Arizona on top.

Charlie Blackmon put the Rockies in front with a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth and Nolan Arenado added an RBI double for Colorado. Brad Ziegler (5-2) picked up the win in relief despite allowing a run and three hits in his lone inning and Addison Reed worked a spotless ninth for his 31st save.

Rockies starter Christian Bergman and Arizona starter Josh Collmenter matched zeroes through the first five innings before the Diamondbacks finally broke through in the sixth. David Peralta tripled and Mark Trumbo was intentionally walked to end Bergman’s night before Christian Friedrich came on and unleashed a wild pitch that allowed the run to score.

Colorado tied it up on Arenado’s double to right-center in the seventh and took the lead when Ziegler loaded the bases on three straight one-out singles in front of Blackmon’s sacrifice fly. Brothers walked three straight batters before handing it off to Ottavino in the eighth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Friedrich was charged with one run on two hits and five walks in 5 1/3 innings while Collmenter allowed one run and two hits in 6 1/3 frames. … Lamb, 23, belted his first home run on Saturday against San Diego - a solo shot. … The Diamondbacks added OF Nolan Reimold to the roster and released OF Xavier Paul.
