Diamondbacks 5, Phillies 4: Aaron Hill homered and drove in three in support of six scoreless innings from Josh Collmenter as visiting Arizona took the series opener from Philadelphia.

Paul Goldschmidt added an RBI single and A.J. Pollock homered for the Diamondbacks, who have won three straight for the first time this season and improved to 2-11 at home. Collmenter (1-2) surrendered four hits and did not walk a batter before four relievers bridged the gap to Addison Reed, who allowed a run in the ninth but stranded the tying run on second to lock up his sixth save.

Domonic Brown and Marlon Byrd each recorded two hits and scored as the Phillies fell for the second time in six games. Roberto Hernandez (1-1) allowed four runs on seven hits and a pair of walks in six innings before a three-run rally in the seventh fell short for Philadelphia.

Hernandez walked Miguel Montero leading off the fourth in front of Hill, who followed by sending a towering blast out to left-center for a 2-0 lead. Goldschmidt sent an RBI single through the right side in the fifth and moved up on a walk before Hill found the gap in left-center again, this time bouncing it off the warning track and into the stands for an RBI ground-rule double.

Joe Thatcher came out of the bullpen for Arizona in the seventh and yielded a pair of one-out singles before Randall Delgado entered and yielded a single and a bases-loaded walk. The Phillies challenged a tag play on an error and got the call overturned, resulting in a two-run error that sliced the deficit to 4-3 before Pollock provided some insurance with a solo shot in the eighth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Arizona LF Mark Trumbo (left foot) told reporters he expects to be out six weeks due to a stress fracture. … Pollock (neck) played for the first time since Sunday and went 2-for-4 with his second home run. … Ben Revere added two hits and stole a base for the Phillies, giving him four multi-hit games in the last five contests.
