Dodgers 8, Diamondbacks 6: Andre Ethier clubbed a three-run homer in the fourth inning and Los Angeles followed with a five-run fifth before hanging on to beat visiting Arizona and even the three-game series.

Adrian Gonzalez and Matt Kemp each had two hits and two RBIs in support of Dan Haren (3-0), who threw 7 1/3 innings, allowing five runs (two earned) and seven hits. Brian Wilson survived a rocky two-run eighth before Kenley Jansen struck out Paul Goldschmidt, representing the tying run, to end the game and record his sixth save.

Mark Trumbo and Martin Prado each had two hits with Prado and Goldschmidt driving in two runs apiece for Arizona. Mike Bolsinger (0-1) made his first career start for the Diamondbacks and was unable to protect a 4-0 lead, allowing seven runs (six earned) in four innings.

Bolsinger retired the first eight batters - four by strikeout and four by groundout - and induced another groundout to start the fourth, but singles by Gonzalez and Kemp led up to Ethier’s homer, cutting the deficit to 4-3. Los Angeles surged ahead with five more runs in the fifth, two coming home on a single by Gonzalez and two more on Kemp’s double.

Haren, who had two of his best major-league seasons with the Diamondbacks in 2008-09, ran into his only stretch of trouble in the four-run fourth and much of that was the result of a botched double play. He settled back in and blanked the Diamondbacks over the next 3 1/3 innings before the bullpen closed the door.
