Corbin Carroll and Kevin Newman scored on consecutive wild pitches in the seventh inning as the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied from a three-run deficit to beat the Colorado Rockies 5-4 on Monday in Phoenix.
Jake McCarthy had two hits and two RBIs for Arizona, which won its fourth straight and moved a season-high 14 games over .500.
Arizona took its first lead of the game with two outs and two runners on in the seventh inning after Tyler Kinley replaced Anthony Molina (1-1) and allowed Carroll and Newman to score on wild pitches.
Diamondbacks starter Brandon Pfaadt (7-6) matched his career high with 11 strikeouts and allowed four runs on eight hits with zero walks over seven innings. Justin Martinez worked around a leadoff single in the ninth for his third save.
Brendan Rodgers hit a solo homer for Colorado, which lost for the fourth time in its past six games.
Arizona took a 1-0 lead in the second inning against Rockies starter Bradley Blalock on back-to-back doubles by Josh Bell and McCarthy.
The Rockies pulled even in the third inning when Jake Cave hit a leadoff double and scored on Elias Diaz's single.
Colorado moved ahead with two runs on four hits in the fourth inning. Rodgers' sacrifice fly scored Brenton Doyle, and Diaz drove in a run with a two-out single.
Rodgers put the Rockies ahead 4-1 with a homer in the sixth inning, his ninth this season. Rodgers is 11-for-26 (.423) during a seven-game hitting streak.
The Diamondbacks cut into the deficit with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Bell's two-out double scored Newman from first base, and McCarthy followed with a run-scoring single to center. McCarthy has 13 RBIs over his past five games.
Blalock was replaced by Molina, who walked Adrian Del Castillo before striking out Eugenio Suarez.
Blalock allowed three runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings during his first major league start. He struck out four and walked none while throwing 96 pitches.
Cave had three hits and came within a home run of hitting for the cycle for the Rockies, who have lost six of their first eight meetings against Arizona this season.
Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte exited the game after the first inning with an aggravation of his left ankle soreness. He originally injured his ankle in a game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.
