Justin Turner hit a three-run home run and right-hander Walker Buehler won for the fifth time in eight starts as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks 5-3 on Wednesday to complete a four-game sweep.
Freddie Freeman had an RBI single eight pitches into the game as the Dodgers won their fifth consecutive contest overall following a season-long four-game losing streak.
Pavin Smith had two RBIs for Arizona, which saw its season-worst losing streak reach six games. The Diamondbacks fell to 5-21 against the Dodgers over the past two seasons.
The Dodgers got off to a fast start when Mookie Betts led off the bottom of the first inning with a double and Freeman followed with a single to center. It was Betts' major league-leading 36th run scored.
The Diamondbacks tied the game in the second inning on a Geraldo Perdomo RBI groundout and pushed in front 2-1 in the third on another run-scoring groundout, this one from Smith.
The Dodgers jumped back on top in the fourth inning. Will Smith had a one-out double and Max Muncy followed with a single before Turner blasted a home run to left field, his fourth of the season and third of the just-completed eight-game homestand.
The Dodgers made it 5-2 later in the fourth when Cody Bellinger doubled after Turner's home run and Gavin Lux had a two-out RBI single.
Arizona loaded the bases with nobody out in the fifth inning on three consecutive singles, but Buehler struck out Jordan Luplow and Smith before Christian Walker grounded into a force out to end the threat.
Smith had an RBI single in the seventh inning to bring Arizona within 5-3.
Buehler (5-1) gave up two runs on six hits over five innings with two walks and four strikeouts. Dodgers left-hander David Price went 1 1/3 scoreless innings in his return from the COVID-injured list and Daniel Hudson pitched the ninth inning for his second save.
Diamondbacks starter Zach Davies (2-2) gave up five runs on seven hits over four innings with no walks and two strikeouts. He entered with a 1.06 ERA at Dodger Stadium in five previous starts.
