Andy Ibanez clubbed a two-run homer and joined three of his teammates with two hits to lift the visiting Texas Rangers to a 7-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday.
Adolis Garcia, whose RBI double in the fifth inning broke a 2-2 tie, Willie Calhoun and Leody Taveras also had two hits as Texas (57-99) earned a split of this four-game set.
Rangers starter Dane Dunning allowed just one hit -- Anthony Santander's two-run homer in the fourth -- and struck out five but also walked five over 4 2/3 innings. Jharel Cotton (2-0) permitted one hit in 1 2/3 innings to secure the win.
Pedro Severino also hit a two-run homer for the Orioles (50-106), who managed just four hits on the day.
Dunning and Baltimore's John Means (6-8) were locked in a pitcher's duel through the first three innings before the Rangers broke through in the fourth.
Nathaniel Lowe singled off Means and Ibanez went deep to left field for his seventh homer of the season. Ibanez entered this contest 0-for-11 in his previous three games.
Baltimore answered in the bottom of the fourth when Austin Hays opened the frame with a walk. Santander then snapped an 0-for-13 slump with a drive that just cleared the right-field wall to tie the game with the Orioles' first hit of the day.
However, the Rangers went back ahead 3-2 through Garcia's run-scoring double. All three runs Means allowed were earned, while also giving up seven hits and fanning eight without a walk in five innings.
Texas made it 4-2 in the seventh when Isiah Kiner-Falefa dropped a single into left field that scored Taveras. Calhoun's two-run triple and Charlie Culberson's run-scoring double in the eighth broke things open for the Rangers, who finished the season 24-57 on the road.
Baltimore recorded half of its hits in the ninth inning when Trey Mancini singled and scored on Severino's shot down the line and into the left-field seats.
