Asdrubal Cabrera hit a run-scoring bloop double into left field with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Arizona Diamondbacks a 6-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night at Phoenix.
Cabrera's hit off Jimmy Nelson (1-2), the ninth Dodgers pitcher, easily scored runner Daulton Varsho from second base as the Diamondbacks defeated the Dodgers for just the second time in 11 meetings this season.
Josh VanMeter had three doubles and three RBIs for the Diamondbacks, who have won seven of their past 10 games. Cabrera reached base five times on two hits and three walks and also drove in two runs.
Chris Taylor homered and had three RBIs for Los Angeles, which has dropped eight of its past 12 games. The Dodgers fell to 1-11 in extra-inning games.
Matt Peacock (4-6) retired three consecutive hitters in the top of the 10th for the Diamondbacks.
Taylor slugged a two-run triple to deep center off Jake Faria with no outs in the seventh to pull the Dodgers within 5-4.
Arizona's Miguel Aguilar entered to make his big-league debut and stranded Taylor by striking out Max Muncy, retiring Justin Turner on a foul pop and inducing Corey Seager to ground out.
The Dodgers had runners on second and third with two outs in the eighth before pinch hitter Albert Pujols delivered a run-scoring single to center off Brett de Geus to tie it at 5. Taylor grounded out to end the inning.
Arizona right-hander Zac Gallen struck out eight in six innings. He gave up two runs and five hits and walked one.
Dodgers right-hander Tony Gonsolin lasted just 1 2/3 innings and walked five. He allowed two runs and one hit and struck out one.
Gonsolin walked the bases loaded in the second and VanMeter ripped a two-run double to right to give Arizona the early lead.
The Diamondbacks increased the advantage to 3-0 in the fourth when Cabrera singled to center with runners on first and second to score Nick Ahmed.
Taylor led off the sixth for the Dodgers by hammering the inning's first pitch from Gallen over the left field wall. The 407-foot blast was Taylor's sixth in 10 games and 17th of the season.
Los Angeles added another run later in the inning on AJ Pollock's sacrifice fly to deep center.
Arizona made it 5-2 in the bottom of the sixth as VanMeter stroked a run-scoring double to right and later scored on Christian Walker's sacrifice fly to center.
