Jose Ramirez and Bobby Bradley each homered in the first inning and Yu Chang drove in four runs to lift the host Cleveland Indians to a 10-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday afternoon.
The victory completed a four-game sweep for the Indians, while the setback extended the Orioles' club-record road losing streak to 19 games.
Chang belted a two-run homer and Eddie Rosario also went deep as every starter had at least one hit for the Indians, who have won 10 of 14 overall and eight of the last nine at home.
After Eli Morgan allowed three runs, five hits and struck out five over 3 2/3 innings in his second career start, five Indians relievers yielded just three hits and fanned eight over 5 1/3 scoreless frames. Trevor Stephan struck out three in 1 2/3 innings to pick up the win.
Austin Hays and Maikel Franco each homered for the Orioles, whose 19 consecutive road losses are tied for fifth-most in MLB history. Baltimore has dropped eight straight overall and is 7-30 since May 7.
With the wind blowing out, the ball traveled well early on Thursday. Ramirez's two-run shot into the right-field seats off Orioles' starter Jorge Lopez (2-8) was his second in the first inning in as many days. Two batters later, Bradley clubbed his fourth of the season to left center for a 3-0 Indians lead.
Baltimore got a run back on Hays' sixth homer in the second inning. But, Eddie Rosario got in on the homer fun in the bottom of the third with his fifth of the season to make it 4-1.
The Orioles closed that deficit in fourth when Franco barely cleared the left-field wall. Two batters later, Austin Wynns doubled to chase Morgan. After Cedric Mullins was hit in the helmet by a Kyle Nelson pitch, Trey Mancini (two hits) blooped an RBI single to left to make it a 4-3 contest.
Ernie Clement's two-out RBI double off the left-field wall gave Cleveland a 5-3 advantage in the fourth.
Chang added two more runs with an RBI single in the sixth inning before his long drive over the left-field wall highlighted Cleveland's three-run eighth.
Lopez was charged with five runs and seven hits over 4 1/3 innings.
