Harold Castro took second base in the bottom of the inning and advanced to third with a groundout. Hansel Robles struck out the next batter, then issued an intentional walk before Baddoo's game-winning hit to right field.
Both teams scored a run in the fourth.
Willians Astudillo smacked a two-out RBI single in the top of the inning before the Tigers forged a tie after Candelario drew a leadoff walk and scored on Grossman's one-out double.
Detroit scored two runs off reliever Cody Stashak in the fifth. Goodrum led off with a single and Miguel Cabrera drew a one-out walk. Candelario then smacked a double to right, bringing home Goodrum. With two out, Grossman singled to knock in Cabrera.
