Marcell Ozuna hit a three-run homer, and Adam Wainwright pitched seven strong innings Saturday as the visiting St. Louis Cardinals evened their series against the Pittsburgh Pirates with a 10-1 win.
Harrison Bader drove in three with a double and a single, Paul DeJong hit a two-run double, and Dexter Fowler and Tommy Edman hit RBI singles for St. Louis (80-62).
Starling Marte had an RBI single for Pittsburgh (62-80).
Wainwright (11-9) allowed one run and six hits, with three strikeouts and one walk. He also doubled, singled and scored a run.
Pittsburgh starter Steven Brault (4-4) pitched 5 1/3 innings, giving up six runs, five of them earned, and six hits, with two strikeouts and two walks.
The Cardinals got things going in the third. Wainwright led off with a double and scored on Fowler's single. Kolten Wong bunted for a single, and an out later, Ozuna hit his 26th homer, to right-center, for a 4-0 lead.
Pittsburgh got one back in the bottom of the third. Marte set a career high with his 82nd RBI when his single drove in Kevin Newman, who singled and stole second.
In the sixth, Ozuna walked, and DeJong reached on right fielder Jose Osuna's error and stole second. An out later, Edman and Bader hit back-to-back RBI base hits for a 6-1 St. Louis lead, chasing Brault.
Reliever Clay Holmes got out of that situation with back-to-back strikeouts, but he gave up two runs in the seventh. Wong doubled and, an out later, Ozuna walked. Both scrambled home on DeJong's double to center to make it 8-1.
In the ninth, Pirates reliever Parker Markel hit pinch hitter Edmundo Sosa. Yadier Molina singled, extending baseball's longest active hitting streak to 14 games, then left for pinch runner Andrew Knizner.
An out later, Bader smacked a ball to right-center. A fan in a Cardinals jersey interfered when he caught the ball at the top of the wall, rendering it a double, with Sosa scoring to make it 9-1. Pinch hitter Rangel Ravelo's groundout brought in Knizner for a 10-1 lead.
