Christian Walker and Wilmer Flores hit back-to-back homers to erase an early deficit, and the Arizona Diamondbacks held on to win their third straight game against the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 on Saturday evening in Phoenix.
Walker hit a two-run homer off Clayton Kershaw in the fourth inning to cut the deficit to 3-2, and Flores followed with his game-tying homer. It was Walker's fourth home run in 10 at-bats off Kershaw, matching Adam Dunn for the most home runs off the three-time NL Cy Young Award winner.
Nick Ahmed had a two-run double in the fifth to move the Diamondbacks ahead 5-4 and Eduardo Escobar hit a solo homer in the eighth to make it 6-4.
Kershaw (13-4) exited after allowing a season-high five earned runs in a season-low five innings. He gave up five hits, struck out six and walked two in losing two straight starts for the first time this season.
Justin Turner had three hits for Los Angeles, including a solo homer in the third inning for a 1-0 lead. Will Smith also went deep for the Dodgers, who have lost three in a row for the first time since the All-Star break.
Arizona left-hander Robbie Ray (12-7) went five innings, allowing four runs and eight hits. He struck out six and walked three.
Yoan Lopez, T.J. McFarland and Kevin Ginkel combined for three innings of scoreless relief before the Dodgers loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth off Archie Bradley.
Walker made a diving stop at first base on a hard-hit grounder off the bat of Matt Beaty and started a double play. The Dodgers scored a run on the play, but Bradley got Russell Martin to ground out to end the game and earn his 10th save.
After the Diamondbacks tied the score on the back-to-back homers, the Dodgers moved back ahead 4-3 on a sacrifice fly by Enrique Hernandez in the fifth.
Kershaw surrendered that lead, too, giving up the two-run double to Ahmed.
Turner and Smith hit their solo homers before Jedd Gyorko had an RBI double over the head of Tim Locastro in center for a 3-0 lead in the fourth.
