Noah Syndergaard pitched seven innings of three-hit ball and the visiting New York Mets got homers Sunday from Michael Conforto, J.D. Davis and Jeff McNeil in a 13-2 drubbing of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Syndergaard (8-5) struck out three and walked one. Through his first 6 1/3 innings, he allowed only Bryan Reynolds' first-inning single and Kevin Newman's second-inning walk.
Syndergaard also went 2-for-4 and scored twice.
The Mets took two of three on the weekend and have won six of seven series since the All-Star break.
Colin Moran hit an RBI single for Pittsburgh, but not before the Mets built a 13-run lead. Jose Osuna homered in the ninth.
Pittsburgh starter Joe Musgrove (8-10) gave up eight runs and 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings, with five strikeouts and no walks.
Mets second baseman Robinson Cano left in the fourth inning because of a left hamstring strain. He pulled up rounding first on what looked to be a double.
Conforto got things started with his 22nd homer, a one-out solo shot, in the first. Davis hit his 11th homer later that inning, a two-run, 449-foot blast high off the PNC Park rotunda in left to make it 3-0.
The Mets got three more runs in the third on Todd Frazier's RBI single, Cano's RBI double and Davis' RBI single for a 6-0 lead.
Frazier added a two-run base hit in the fourth to push the score to 8-0 and chase Musgrove.
Yefry Ramirez, making his Pirates debut, relieved Musgrove and held off New York until the sixth, when Juan Lagares - who replaced Cano - doubled home Syndergaard, who led off with a single. After Davis walked, Moran misplayed a ball hit by Amed Rosario, which scored two and gave the Mets an 11-0 lead.
In the seventh, McNeil hit his 13th homer, a two-run shot to right, to make it 13-0.
Pittsburgh broke through in the bottom of the seventh when Osuna hit a one-out double, moved to third on a groundout and scored on Moran's single to break up the shutout bid.
