Luke Voit hit one of three Yankees home runs off Felix Hernandez on Monday night as New York opened a four-game series against the Seattle Mariners with a 7-3 victory at Yankee Stadium.
Voit joined Gary Sanchez as the second Yankee to reach double digits in homers when he connected four pitches into the game to make it 2-0.
Brett Gardner hit a solo shot leading off the second inning. Rookie shortstop Thairo Estrada hit his first career homer two batters later following a fielding error by Seattle third baseman Ryon Healy.
The homers helped the Yankees become the fourth American League team get their 20th win as they improved to 14-5 in their last 19 contests.
DJ LeMahieu added a run-scoring single to cap the four-run second and the Yankees added their final run off Hernandez (1-3) on Gio Urshela's RBI single in the third.
CC Sabathia (2-1) did enough to get his 248th career win, giving up three runs on five hits in five innings. He picked up his 15th career win over Seattle on a night when he started strong and labored at the end.
Sabathia retired 10 of the first 12 hitters before surrendering a two-run homer to Domingo Santana in the fourth. In the fifth, he gave up a solo homer to Dee Gordon and loaded the bases on two singles and a walk.
Sabathia ended his outing by inducing a weak ground ball by Jay Bruce to end the fifth.
Seattle leads the majors with 70 homers.
Hernandez gave up seven runs -- six earned -- on eight hits in five innings as the Mariners lost for the seventh time in eight games.
Seattle also fell to 6-16 in its last 22 games after opening the season with a 13-2 record.
Adam Ottavino worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth after replacing Jonathan Holder. Ottavino also recorded the first two outs of the seventh before Zack Britton retired Bruce to end the inning.
Britton also pitched a perfect eighth and Luis Cessa finished up with a perfect ninth.
