Rougned Odor hit a grand slam, and Joey Gallo and Robinson Chirinos also homered during a seven-run fourth inning as the Texas Rangers posted an 11-3 victory over the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Friday.
Odor's third career slam was the capper to the big fourth inning and propelled the Rangers to an eight-run lead. He scored twice and had two hits, and Texas had 10 hits overall while winning for the sixth time in its past seven games.
The Rangers have slugged six homers and scored 28 runs while winning the first two contests of the four-game series.
Jonathan Villar went 3-for-5 with an RBI for Baltimore, which is a major league-worst 13-42 on the road. The Orioles have dropped 13 of their past 14 away games.
Texas right-hander Ariel Jurado (2-1) allowed two runs and six hits over five innings in his third major league outing. He struck out three and walked two.
Baltimore right-hander David Hess (2-6) was charged with seven runs (five earned) and five hits over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out four, walked one and served up the homers to Gallo and Chirinos.
Texas led 1-0 entering the fourth and the inning started with Hess plunking Adrian Beltre with a pitch. Gallo then drilled a 1-0 changeup over the fence in right for his 28th homer of the campaign.
Chirinos followed by slugging a 2-2 slider over the fence in left for his 15th blast of the season to make the score 4-0.
The Rangers then loaded the bases with one out. Left-hander Donnie Hart replaced Hess, and Odor stepped in and drilled an 0-1 sinker into the right field stands to make it 8-0. The homer was Odor's second in two nights and 12th of the season.
The Orioles got on the board with two two-out hits in the fifth. Villar drove in the first with a ground single to center, and Tim Beckham followed with a run-scoring single to left.
Baltimore added another run in the sixth to trim its deficit to 8-3 as Mark Trumbo led off with a single and scored on Chris Davis' double to left.
Willie Calhoun hit a two-run double to left-center in the eighth for Texas to make it 10-3. Calhoun scored on Shin-Soo Choo's single to right-center field.
