Trevor Williams combined with three Pittsburgh relievers on a six-hit shutout Saturday as the Pirates won their second straight game, 5-0, against the visiting New York Mets.
It was the Pirates' 12th shutout, most in the National League.
Colin Moran drove in two runs, and David Freese, Adam Frazier and Francisco Cervelli each added an RBI for Pittsburgh, which has won 15 of its past 18.
Mets starter Jacob deGrom doubled and singled, the only player with multiple hits for New York, which lost its second in a row.
Williams (9-7) pitched six innings for his third straight win, with five hits, five strikeouts and three walks. He worked out of a few jams: The Mets stranded two runners in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings.
Edgar Santana pitched the seventh, Kyle Crick struck out the side in the eighth and Richard Rodriguez worked a perfect ninth with two strikeouts.
DeGrom (5-6) gave up a season-high eight hits. He allowed three runs in seven innings, with five strikeouts and no walks. DeGrom, who entered the game leading the major leagues with a 1.71 ERA, has held opponents to three runs or fewer in 18 straight starts but has not notched a win since June 18 because of a lack of run support.
In the sixth, Gregory Polanco singled to right with two outs and stole second. Moran drove him in with a base hit to right for a 1-0 Pittsburgh lead.
The Pirates' Jordan Luplow led off the seventh with a base hit to left, moved to second on Cervelli's bunt, to third on Jordy Mercer's single to left and scored on Freese's pinch-hit groundout. Frazier drove in Mercer with a double for a 3-0 lead.
Against Mets reliever Robert Gsellman in the eighth, Polanco opened with a double off the wall in right and scored on Moran's single to left to make it 4-0. Two outs later, Cervelli hit an RBI single for a 5-0 lead.
