Trevor Plouffe hit a walk-off, three-run home run in the 16th inning to lift the Philadelphia Phillies past the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers 7-4 Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.

Plouffe's first homer of the year came off position player Enrique Hernandez, one of 18 total pitchers used by both teams.

Nick Williams and Jorge Alfaro also homered for the Phillies, who played their longest game since Aug. 24, 2013, when they lost 12-7 in 18 innings to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Tuesday's contest lasted 5 hours, 55 minutes.

Phillies starter Aaron Nola, an All-Star this season, labored a bit through five innings as he allowed five hits and three runs.

Vince Velasquez (7-8), the ninth Phillies pitcher, earned the win with one scoreless inning in relief.

Yasmani Grandal homered twice for the Dodgers. It was his 10th multi-homer game of his career, and he finished with three hits.

Joc Pederson led the Dodgers with four hits.

Hernandez (0-1) took the loss coming on as the ninth Dodgers pitcher.

Los Angeles jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning when Pederson scored on a wild pitch, just beating the tag at home from Nola.

Grandal connected in the fourth on a solo homer for a 2-0 Dodgers advantage.

Odubel Herrera's two-out single in the fourth was the first hit off Los Angeles starter Kenta Maeda, but Carlos Santana grounded out to end the inning.

In the fifth, Pederson skied an RBI double off the left field fence, scoring Alex Verdugo for a 3-0 lead.

Williams sliced the lead to 3-1 for the Phillies with a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth, his 12th of the season.

Grandal hit his second home run of the game, this time right-handed off reliever Adam Morgan, for a 4-1 Dodgers lead in the sixth. Grandal has 16 homers this season.

Maikel Franco lifted an RBI double into the gap in left center field with no outs in the seventh to score Santana, cutting the deficit to 4-2. Later in the inning, Alfaro smashed a two-run home run, estimated at 446 feet, to tie the game at 4. It was his seventh homer of the year.
