Randal Grichuk and Yangervis Solarte each hit two-run home runs in a four-run eighth inning as the Toronto Blue Jays came back to defeat the visiting Baltimore Orioles 5-4 on Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Jays completed a sweep of the three-game series after falling behind 4-1 when Baltimore scored two runs in the top of the eighth against John Axford (4-1).
In the bottom of the eighth. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. singled against Brad Brach and was forced at second by Curtis Granderson. Grichuk followed with his 13th home run of the season.
Justin Smoak singled and Devon Travis ran for him. Travis took second on a groundout, and Tanner Scott (1-2) entered to face Solarte, who clubbed his 17th homer of the season to give Toronto the lead.
Tyler Clippard pitched around a hit batter in the ninth to earn his seventh save of the season.
Jonathan Schoop hit a solo home run for the Orioles.
Baltimore starter Andrew Cashner allowed one run, six hits and one walk in 5 2/3 innings after returning from the disabled list (stiff neck). It was his first start since July 10.
Toronto starter J.A. Happ allowed one run and four hits while striking out nine in five innings.
The Blue Jays scored a run in the fourth. Kendrys Morales singled with two out and came around to score on a double by Solarte. Left fielder Jace Peterson made a diving attempt on Solarte's drive and then after he retrieved the ball, missed the cutoff man with his throw.
The Orioles tied the game in the fifth. Mark Trumbo singled to shortstop. He was forced at second on a grounder to shortstop by Renato Nunez as the Blue Jays failed to turn the double play. Trey Mancini singled to right and Peterson hit a two-out, RBI single.
Schoop hit his 12th homer of the season - and his second of the series -- with one out in the sixth against reliever Joe Biagini.
Cashner was replaced by Paul Fry with two out and runners at the corners with two out in the sixth. Grichuk had doubled with one out and took third on a fly out. Cashner walked Morales before Fry retired Solarte on a grounder to third.
The Orioles added two runs in the eighth on a single by Schoop, a walk to Trumbo, an RBI double by Nunez and an error by second baseman Gurriel on Mancini's grounder.
