Scott Schebler went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, and the visiting Cincinnati Reds held on for a 7-5 win over the Cleveland Indians on Monday night at Progressive Field.

The four hits matched a career high for Schebler, who singled in the first, third and seventh innings before going deep in the ninth, his 12th homer. Tucker Barnhart drove in a pair of runs and Joey Votto contributed a solo home run for Cincinnati, which has won 18 of its past 26 games.

Yonder Alonso and Jason Kipnis homered for the Indians, who scored four runs in the ninth but could not complete the comeback. Cleveland has dropped three in a row.

Reds right-hander Anthony DeSclafani (4-1) allowed one run in seven innings, which marked his longest outing since Sept. 2, 2016. He held the Indians to five hits while walking two and striking out three.

Indians right-hander Mike Clevinger (7-4) drew the loss after surrendering five runs on seven hits in six-plus innings. He walked three and struck out 11, which equaled his season high.

Cincinnati opened the scoring with a run in the second. Eugenio Suarez drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a groundout and scored on a double to deep right field by Barnhart.

A two-run fourth increased the Reds' advantage to 3-0. Jesse Winker doubled to right field to score Scooter Gennett from first base, and Barnhart notched his second RBI moments later with a single to drive in Winker.

Alonso hit a solo shot over the right field wall in the bottom of the fourth to cut the deficit to 3-1. The blast marked Alonso's 13th home run of the season and his first since June 22, snapping a 10-game drought.

The Reds regained a three-run lead in the fifth when Votto went deep to the opposite field for his ninth home run.

In the seventh, Schebler made it 5-1 with a run-scoring single to right field. The hit drove in Billy Hamilton, who notched his team-leading 22nd stolen base earlier in the inning.

Schebler put the Reds on top 7-1 with a two-run shot off Indians reliever Josh Tomlin in the top of the ninth.

Kipnis answered with a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth. Francisco Lindor added a sacrifice fly, and Michael Brantley followed with an RBI double to finish the scoring.

Raisel Iglesias recorded the last two outs for his 18th save.
