Jurickson Profar smacked a first-inning homer, and four Texas pitchers combined on a shutout as the visiting Rangers salvaged a split of a four-game series by blanking the Detroit Tigers 3-0 on Sunday.

Rangers designated hitter Shin-Soo Choo extended his on-base streak to 47 games with a ninth-inning infield single. He broke Julio Franco's 1993 club record with the hit. Choo also reached base on an error in the second inning, but that did not count toward the streak.

Texas starter Austin Bibens-Dirkx (2-2) lasted 5 1/3 innings and limited Detroit to three singles and a walk while striking out five. Reliever Jose Leclerc also recorded five strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. Jake Diekman tossed one inning, and Keone Kela notched his 22nd save by getting the last three outs.

Detroit starter Michael Fulmer (3-8) gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits over seven innings while striking out six and walking three.

Tigers right fielder Nicholas Castellanos was a late scratch from the lineup due to a sore wrist.

Profar gave the Rangers an early lead with his one-out homer in the first. Profar's long ball was his ninth this season, a career high.

Texas added two runs in the second. Joey Gallo drew a leadoff walk and Isiah Kiner-Falefa hit a single up the middle. Ronald Guzman hit a check-swing single to drive in Gallo.

Carlos Tocci was called for interference when Fulmer's throw on his bunt attempt hit him in the helmet. Rangers manager Jeff Banister was ejected for arguing the call.

Kiner-Falefa scored when first baseman John Hicks made an error on Choo's grounder.

Bibens-Dirkx cruised through the first five innings, striking out the side in the second.

He got a quick hook after allowing a one-out single to Jose Iglesias and a walk to Victor Reyes in the sixth. Leclerc then struck out JaCoby Jones and Jeimer Candelario to snuff out the threat. Candelario has gone hitless in his past 24 at-bats with a runner in scoring position.

Texas loaded the bases in the eighth, but Daniel Stumpf escaped the jam by inducing a double-play ball from Gallo.
