Rays 8, Blue Jays 5: Wil Myers hit one of four Tampa Bay homers and Ryan Roberts singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as the Rays edged host Toronto for their 17th win in the past 22 games.
Roberts' clean single to left field off All-Star reliever Steve Delabar scored Kelly Johnson, who scampered home well ahead of the throw from Blue Jays outfielder Rajai Davis. Desmond Jennings followed with a run-scoring double to help make a winner out of David Price (4-5), who surrendered four runs over seven innings.
Brett Cecil (3-1) absorbed the loss after allowing Johnson's single to center leading off the seventh.
The teams put on a power display over the first six innings, combining to hit seven home runs. Toronto's Edwin Encarnacion and Tampa Bay's Ben Zobrist traded solo shots before J.P. Arencibia went deep to center and Jose Bautista added a two-run shot to left to put the Blue Jays up 4-1 in the third.
Myers' solo blast in the fourth trimmed the deficit and the Rays drew even in the sixth on homers from Evan Longoria and Johnson.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Price improved to 13-2 in 17 career starts against the Blue Jays. ... Toronto RHP Esmil Rogers surrendered four runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings. He has coughed up seven homers in two starts versus the Rays this season. ... Blue Jays 2B Brett Lawrie hit a solo shot in the ninth, his first since May 24.
