Athletics 6, Blue Jays 4: Alberto Callaspo hit a tiebreaking two-run double in the eighth inning as visiting Oakland won a see-saw affair.
Brandon Moss snapped a 1-1 tie with a two-run homer in the sixth for the Athletics before Toronto tied it in the bottom half on Jose Reyes' RBI single and Maicer Izturis' sacrifice fly. Josh Reddick singled against Darren Oliver (3-3) with one out in the eighth and Josh Donaldson walked before Callaspo drove them in with a shot off the left-field wall that was just out of the reach of Emilio Bonifacio.
Chris Young followed with a pinch-hit RBI single to make it 6-3 as the Athletics remained a game behind first-place Texas in the American League West. Ryan Cook (4-2) got the win with 1 1/3 scoreless innings and Grant Balfour recorded his 30th save despite yielding a run in the ninth and loading the bases before getting Reyes to ground out to second to end it.
R.A. Dickey allowed three runs and six hits in seven innings for the Blue Jays. Counterpart A.J. Griffin gave up three runs (two earned) in 5 2/3 innings while walking a career-high six batters, one of which was intentional.
Donaldson was 2-for-3 and contributed an RBI single ahead of Moss' homer in the sixth. Brett Lawrie was 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and an RBI double in the ninth for Toronto, which left 15 runners on base and needed two errors to take a 1-0 lead in the second.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Athletics have committed four errors leading to three unearned runs in the last two games. ... Lawrie has recorded a hit in 12 of his last 13 games, posting a .383 mark in that span. ... The finale of the four-game series is Monday at 12:37 p.m. ET.
