Giants 8, Mets 5: Angel Pagan went 3-for-3 with a go-ahead home run in the seventh as visiting San Francisco snapped a streak of five straight losses to New York.
Pagan's towering shot to left-center off Sean Henn (0-1) - his first since an inside-the-park home run May 25 - snapped a 4-4 tie. The former Mets outfielder also had an RBI single in the three-run second and a run-scoring triple in the eighth.
The Giants' late outburst made a winner of Yusmeiro Petit (4-0), who allowed four runs on seven hits over six innings and drew a bases-loaded walk in the second. Sergio Romo left the bases loaded in the ninth to close it out.
After falling behind 3-0, the Mets regained the lead on Matt den Dekker's two-run single in the fourth. The Giants tied it on Buster Posey's groundout an inning later and knocked around the New York bullpen to break it open.
Mets starter Zach Wheeler, a former Giants prospect, gave up four runs on three hits over five innings and issued a career-high six walks. The Giants drew 10 walks, and five of those players came around to score.
GAME NOTEBOOK: San Francisco RF Hunter Pence drove in a run with a single in the ninth, giving him 20 RBIs in his past seven games. … Mets C Travis d'Arnaud left with a sore right shoulder after being hit by a foul tip in the third. … Mets RHP Matt Harvey will attempt to avoid Tommy John surgery by rehabilitating the partially torn ligament in his right elbow through a six- to eight-week throwing program. Harvey was 9-5 with a 2.27 ERA in 26 starts this season.
