Angels 6, Astros 5 (10): Josh Hamilton blasted a game-winning homer with one out in the bottom of the 10th to lift Los Angeles past Houston.

Hamilton hit his fifth career walkoff homer into the right-center field stands off Josh Fields (1-3) as the Angels won for only the fourth time in 13 games. Ernesto Frieri (1-4) struck out four in two innings of relief.

Mark Trumbo homered and had three RBIs and Erick Aybar had three hits for Los Angeles. The Astros dropped to 4-12 in August.

Trumbo hit his 27th homer in the second and added a two-run triple in the third and scored on Aybar’s double as the Angels took a 4-2 lead. Houston tied the contest in the fifth on a two-run homer by Brett Wallace.

The Astros took a one-run lead later in the fifth on an RBI double by Chris Carter. Los Angeles tied the score in the seventh when Aybar slapped a single to left to knock in Mike Trout.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wallace and Robbie Grossman each had three hits for Houston. … The umpiring crew reversed a call in the ninth after originally calling Houston OF L.J. Hoes safe at second. Replays showed that Aybar tagged Hoes in the back. … Angels starter Garrett Richards allowed five runs and 12 hits in six innings, while Houston’s Dallas Keuchel gave up four runs and eight hits in four innings.
