Reds 10, Marlins 6: Brandon Phillips’ RBI single and pinch hitter Todd Frazier’s three-run double sparked an eight-run seventh inning as host Cincinnati won for the sixth time in the last seven games.

Joey Votto homered for the second straight game, tallied three hits and scored twice while Shin-Soo Choo reached base in all five plate appearances for the Reds, who became the first team in the majors to record 10 home victories. Logan Ondrusek (1-0) struck out all three batters he faced in the seventh.

Alex Sanabia (2-2) managed to pitch around trouble for the better part of his first six innings, but was charged with five runs and six hits when things began to unravel in the seventh. Xavier Paul and Votto singled following a walk to Choo, the first three of six straight batters to reach base.

Phillips fought off four consecutive 1-2 pitches off reliever Jon Rauch before lining a fastball into right to score Choo, and Paul scored later on the play when Giancarlo Stanton bobbled the ball. Devin Mesoraco drove in Votto with a single two batters later and Frazier doubled off the top of the wall in right to clear the bases.

Choo added a run-scoring double to right and Paul greeted reliever Tom Koehler with a ground-rule double to cap the inning. Stanton ended his season-long RBI drought in the ninth when he drove home Austin Kearns, and Miguel Olivo hit a three-run homer later in the inning for Miami.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cincinnati scored at least seven runs in an inning for the third time this season. The Reds did not score more than six runs in an inning last season. … Choo (.523) and Votto (.522) rank first and second, respectively, in the majors in on-base percentage. … Miami outfielders accounted for all four of the team’s errors in the series.
