Diamondbacks 12, Phillies 7 (18): Adam Eaton ripped a two-out RBI double to ignite a five-run 18th inning as visiting Arizona won the longest game in franchise history and evened its three-game series with Philadelphia.

Utility player Casper Wells (0-1) retired the first two batters he faced in the 18th before Tony Campana extended the inning with a walk. Eaton drilled an offering into the left-center field gap to plate Campana. Martin Prado, who belted a two-run homer in the first inning, gave the Diamondbacks a 9-7 advantage with an RBI single before Gerardo Parra collected his fifth hit with a two-run single.

Trevor Cahill (5-10), who capped the scoring with an RBI single in the final frame, picked up the win after allowing two hits in four scoreless innings of relief. The contest lasted 7 hours, 6 minutes, and featured 20 pitchers used, tying a major-league record.

Eaton added a run-scoring single among his four hits for Arizona, which improved to 3-0 in games that lasted at least 16 innings this season. The Diamondbacks snapped a three-game losing skid to remain seven games behind Cincinnati in the race for the second wild card in the National League.

Philadelphia's Darin Ruf homered for the third straight contest to forge a 7-7 tie with a two-run shot to highlight a four-run eighth inning. Carlos Ruiz, who had an RBI single in the eighth, led off the fifth with a homer before Roger Bernadina did the same in the sixth.
