Red Sox 5, Orioles 0: Jon Lester pitched seven strong innings and David Ortiz went 4-for-4 with a home run as visiting Boston claimed the rubber match of the three-game series.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Mike Napoli added two hits and drove in a run for the Red Sox, who had lost six straight series against Baltimore.
Lester (10-6) struck out eight while allowing four hits and two walks in winning his second straight start and improving to 15-2 all-time against Baltimore. Counterpart Jason Hammel (7-8) struggled with his control, issuing five walks and allowing three runs on six hits before leaving with one out in the sixth.
Napoli's RBI double in the first opened the scoring, and Ortiz made it 3-0 with a two-run, opposite-field blast in the third. Saltalamacchia tacked on a two-run single in the eighth.
Nick Markakis and Adam Jones each had two of the five hits by the Orioles, who were shut out for the fourth time this season and first since June 8.
