Angels 2, Dodgers 1: Erick Aybar homered to lead off the top of the ninth inning, lifting the visiting Angels to victory.

Aybar's first home run of the season came off reliever Kenley Jansen (4-2) and gave the Angels their eighth victory in the last 10 games.

LaTroy Hawkins (1-1) pitched a scoreless eighth before Ernesto Frieri wriggled out of a first-and-third, no-out jam in the ninth for his sixth save.

Alberto Callaspo also homered for the Angels, who bounced back from Tuesday's 5-2 loss to improve to 11-4 in the last 15 meetings with the Dodgers.

Angels left-hander C.J. Wilson turned in another stellar effort, overcoming five walks to limit the Dodgers to one run on four hits in seven innings.

Dodgers starter Nathan Eovaldi nearly matched him but remained winless despite allowing one run on seven hits in six innings.

Andre Ethier's two-out double in the bottom of the first put the Dodgers ahead, but the lead was short-lived when Callaspo led off the second inning with his third homer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Los Angeles Kings brought the Stanley Cup to Dodger Stadium and posed with the Angels and Dodger players in a group photo before the game. ... Angels 1B Albert Pujols extended his hitting streak to eight games, but his string of seven straight multi-hit games came to a halt. ... Ethier's first-inning double gave him his National League-leading 55th RBI. ... Angels lefty reliever Scott Downs (ribcage) was unavailable Wednesday but manager Mike Scioscia said he was improving.
