Dodgers 4, Brewers 3: Matt Kemp hit his seventh home run and Aaron Harang pitched six solid innings as the Dodgers avoided their first-ever sweep by the Brewers.

Kemp is batting .451 with 18 RBIs after going 2-for-5 against Milwaukee, which won the first two games of the series in their final at-bats.

After striking out a career high-tying 13 batters in his last outing, Harang (1-1) gave up three runs on eight hits with four strikeouts. Javy Guerra worked a scoreless ninth inning for his sixth save.

Tied at two in the fifth inning, the Dodgers grabbed the lead on Juan Rivera’s RBI single and Kemp’s solo blast off Randy Wolf (0-2), who allowed four runs over six innings.

Kemp is the first Dodger with seven homers in his first 13 games since Rick Monday in 1978.

Trailing 4-3 in the eighth inning, the Brewers had runners at second and third when Jerry Hairston Jr. saved at least a run with his diving stop and throw on Alex Gonzalez’s shot past third base.

Hairston made another outstanding defensive play to begin the bottom of the ninth with his bare-handed throw to first on Travis Ishikawa’s bunt.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Dodgers attempted a squeeze bunt in the eighth inning, but Matt Treanor was unable to make contact and Hairston was tagged out by Aramis Ramirez…Jamey Wright struck out five straight batters during his two innings of relief… Ishikawa went 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a rare start for the Brewers… Juan Uribe missed his second straight game with an injured left wrist.
