Rangers 4, Twins 3: Josh Hamilton's two-run home run in the eighth inning gave the Rangers the lead, and they held on to sweep the three-game series at Target Field.
Texas' three-run rally in the eighth against Glen Perkins spoiled a strong outing by Twins starter Liam Hendriks. The 23-year-old Australian allowed one run on seven hits over six innings in his fifth major-league start.
Rookie left-hander Robbie Ross (2-0) struck out three in two scoreless innings of relief for the win, and Mike Adams and former Twins closer Joe Nathan threw scoreless innings out of the Rangers' bullpen. Nathan pitched a perfect ninth for his third save.
Texas starter Neftali Feliz allowed three runs on five hits over five innings.
Clete Thomas gave the Twins a 2-1 lead with a two-run homer off Feliz in the fifth, and Minnesota extended the lead to 3-1 on Jamey Carroll's RBI single in the sixth.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Thomas was claimed off waivers from Detroit on Saturday. … The Twins had scored two or fewer runs in each of their previous six losses. … Feliz became the first Rangers starter other than Yu Darvish to fail to record a quality start this season. … Nathan recorded 260 of his 264 career saves with Minnesota from 2004-11.
