White Sox 6, Cubs 0: Jake Peavy and three relievers combined on a five-hitter as the White Sox completed their first three-game sweep at Wrigley Field since 1999.

Peavy (5-1) rebounded from his worst start of the season by limiting the Cubs to three hits and two walks while striking out seven over 6 1/3 innings. He retired eight of the last nine hitters he faced and drove in a run on a fielder’s choice in the top of the seventh.

Matt Thornton, Jesse Crain and Addison Reed combined to preserve the shutout.

The Cubs, who have lost six in a row, left the bases loaded in the fourth and eighth innings.

The visitors scored their first three runs on solo homers against Paul Maholm (4-3). Gordon Beckham and Adam Dunn led off the fourth inning with back-to-back shots, and Tyler Flowers made it a 3-0 game when he opened the fifth with a blast to left field.

Maholm lasted 6 1/3 innings and was charged with five runs, allowing nine hits and striking out five.

The White Sox scored two runs in the seventh inning, with Beckham collecting his second RBI of the day on a sacrifice fly. Alex Rios doubled home another run in the top of the ninth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The White Sox have won seven of their last eight against the Cubs and are 45-16 in their last 61 interleague games ... Dunn has almost as many hits in his last 12 at-bats against left-handed pitchers (five, including three homers) as he did all last season (6-for-94, 0 HR).
